Hannover, Germany. Roberto Palomba is widely regarded as one of Italy’s most successful architects and designers. On Sunday, 18 January 2015, he will be speaking at the Innovations@DOMOTEX Talks in Hall 6 at the Hannover Exhibition Center. Together with a group of his peers from the international architecture and design scene, Palomba will be sharing his views on key future trends and their impact on design. Given the setting at the world’s largest carpets and floor coverings fair, his focus will be squarely on floor coverings as a central element of interior design.
In 1994, Palomba and his wife, the architect and designer Ludovica Palomba, founded their current business, Palomba Serafini Associati, in their home town of Milan. The couple’s work is known for its timeless elegance, which eschews passing trends and fashions and is embraced by a sophisticated international clientele of contemporary design lovers. They mainly design furniture, bathroom fittings and lamps, but also tiles, mosaics and carpets. The Palombas work for such prominent international brands as Boffi, Cappellini, Dornbracht, Driade, Elcia, Elmar Exteta, Flaminia, Foscarini, Kartell, Kos, Laufen, Lema, Plank, Poltrona Frau, Sawaya & Moroni, Samsung, Tubes, Viccarbe, Zanotta and Zucchetti. The wide-ranging services offered by Palomba Serafini Associati, which span architecture, product design, art direction, communication and marketing consulting, were instrumental in turning the Italian ceramic bathroom products manufacturer Ceramica Flaminia into an internationally renowned design brand.
Palomba designs have won many prestigious international prizes around the world, including the Compasso D’Oro (Italy), the Australian International Design Award, the Good Design Award (USA), the Interior Design Best of the Year Award (USA), the Icon Design Award (Mexico) and the Wallpaper Design Award (UK). In Germany they have taken top honors in the German Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the Elle Decoration International Design Award.
