Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) presents the Fabric Touch Tester, Imaging Colour Measurement System for Textile and Garment Industry, Smart Multi-adhesive-carrying-rollers Lamination System for Intimate Apparel Industry and Bra-Cup Molding Machine with Auto-Loader System, etc., in ShanghaiTex 2013.
Edwin Keh, the CEO of HKRITA, introduced the Fabric Touch Tester and Imaging Colour Measurement (ICM) System for Textile and Garment Industry, their highlighted advanced technologies, to visitors at the booth of HKRITA.
The Fabric Touch Tester is able to measure multiple physical properties of fabric specimens including thermal transmission, bending, compression and surface friction aspects in both warp and weft directions in one single trial.

Besides, software with integrated prediction models is also designed to calculate touch feeling scores for fabrics. Industry can make use of these deliverables to develop a set of guidelines or product standards in terms of touch feelings for specified products, thus eliminating disagreements or subjective arguments about this issue.
On the other hand, Imaging Colour Measurement (ICM) System for Textile and Garment Industry can provide one-stop solution of colour management system including measurement, management, data transmission and quality control.
“Nowadays, fabric touch testing relies on subjective judgment by personal feelings, it is difficult to set up a standard because of discrepancy of personal feelings, but the Fabric Touch Tester is able to standardize testing by data quantification, that subverts the conventional way of touch testing by mailing between manufacturers and customers, so it is a breakthrough which can reduce manufacturers and customers costs and time.” said Edwin Keh.
